Michael Jackson Akon Duet “Hold My Hand” Released

A duet first recorded by late Pop King Michael Jackson and singer/producer Akon in 2007 was released on Monday as the first single from an album of previously-unreleased tunes by Jackson that comes more than a year after the crooner’s death.

“The world was not ready to hear Hold My Hand when it leaked a couple years ago. We were devastated about it, but its time has definitely come. Now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song. I’m so proud to have had the chance to work with Michael, one of my all time idols,” says Akon, who had been working with MJ before his death of acute propofol intoxication in June 2009 at the age of 50.

Michael is the first album of new material from the “Thriller” icon since the release of Invincible in 2001 and also features collaborations with rapper 50 Cent and rocker Lenny Kravitz.
