Blake Lively “Green Lantern” Movie As Carol Ferris
Blake Lively could soon be showing off her glorious gams as the Green Lantern’s leading lady. The Gossip Girl starlet is being lined up to play Carol Ferris, the love interest of Ryan Reynold’s Hal Jordan, in the new comic book movie Green Lantern.
Green Lantern is based on the DC Comics serial about an ordinary man chosen by an alien to receive an energy ring that can be used to protect the planet.
“Blake would be amazing in this role. She has a busy 2010 promoting ‘The Town’, but she would love to play a part in a superhero film,” says a spy.
The 22-year-old — who previously starred in the first two editions of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants — reportedly faces stiff competition for the role, with Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger and Eva Green also up for the part. Lensman Martin Cambell, who previously worked on the 007 featureCasino Royale, has been tapped to direct the movie, leading some to speculate that former Bond girl Eva may be his choice for the role.
Green Lantern will begin filming next year for an expected Summer 2011 release date.
