Earlier, there were reports in a magazine that Sammi Cheng was at her ex-boyfriend Andy Hui’s house visiting for 5 hours, which caused a lot of speculation that perhaps they have gotten back together. It was also noted that because of this, Andy’s current girlfriend Michelle moved out of the home that the 2 of them shared together. Recently, when Andy attended a promotional event, he was said to have “silently acknowledged” getting back together with Sammi. As for Sammi, she attended an event yesterday in ‘good spirits’ with ‘happiness written all over her face.’ When asked whether she and Andy have gotten back together, she denied the rumor; however when asked what her current relationship is with Andy, her reply was simply that she is very satisfied with the relationship the two of them have right now.Yesterday, Sammi attended the event <<Faith, Hope, Love>> to promote the release of her concert DVD’s Super Box Set. It was noted that during the event, she was extremely happy and had a big smile on her face the entire time.
Asked if she and Andy are back together? Sammi replied: “No such thing.” (What is your relationship with him at this moment?) “Right now, our relationship is that of friendship.” (What kind of friendship?) “All I can say is that I like the relationship we have right now.” (Don’t want to get back together?) Sammi smiled sweetly and didn’t reply directly to the question, only saying: “I really like this relationship that we have right now and feel that it would be good to maintain this relationship.” (Don’t want it to change?) Still smiling, she once again insisted: “At this moment in time, our relationship is very good.” (How about a certain magazine stating that Andy’s girlfriend moved out of their home?) Sammie replied: “I don’t know, you should go ask him (Andy)!”
Since Chinese New Year falls on Valentine’s Day this year, Sammi was asked if she had any plans for that day. Sammi, still smiling happily, replied: “I will be staying at home and eating rice cake.” (Eating rice cake by yourself?) “I am already very satisfied with rice cake.” (So you didn’t invite Andy to come have rice cake with you?) Sammi playfully replied: “I already told you that I will be eating it by myself!” (Isn’t spending Valentine’s Day by yourself awfully lonely?) Smiling, Sammi stated that she wanted to spend Valentine’s Day single. (So do you know if Andy is officially ‘single’ now?) She stated that she is not aware. (Is it because it’s awkward so you are afraid to ask him?) “You guys are really annoying; right now, all I am thinking about is rice cake and how much I want to eat it.” (So you really don’t want to meet boyfriend like Andy?) “All I can say is that I will wait for God to arrange for me.”
Sammi indicated that her album has already sold over 70,000 copies. The proceeds from the box set that is currently being released will go entirely to charity – included in the box set is her concert DVD as well as some drawings that she had done previously. She says that she is very happy that her album was able to incorporate her newly found Christian faith and still be successful.
