Apple fails to deliver international iPad on time, delays launch by one month

Due to unexpected high demand in the US, Apple is unable to launch the iPad in other countries at the end of April – as it initially said it would.

The Cupertino company claims to have sold more than 500,000 iPads in the US since launch (April 3), and says that demand is “likely continue to exceed its supply over the next several weeks.”

Because of this, the iPad will be launched in international markets at the end of May. Apple – which is expected to unveil a new iPhone on June 22 – should announce international iPad pricing on May 10, when international customers will also be able to pre-order the device.

Meanwhile, several mobile carriers around the world have announced that they would offer Apple’s iPad, obviously starting late May. The carriers are: Rogers (in Canda), Vodafone (in Australia, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK), Orange (in France, the UK, Spain and Switzerland) and O2 (in the UK).
