HTC Desire, other Android phones confirmed by U.S. Cellular

Those rumors about the HTC Desire making its way to U.S. Cellular turned out to be true, as the regional US carrier has confirmed the handset’s launch later “this summer” via its official Facebook page.

Moreover, it looks like U.S. Cellular will introduce several other Android devices in the near future, although the carrier doesn’t give any details about them.

Since U.S. Cellular offers CDMA services and it has a pretty good relationship with Motorola, one of its upcoming Android phones might be the Motorola Devour (already available via Verizon). But that’s just a guess, of course.

Back to the HTC Desire, this will most likely be U.S. Cellular’s first Android smartphone. Possibly coming to AT&T, too, the Desire runs Android 2.1 and has lots of high-end features, including a 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, 5MP autofocus camera, and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

U.S. Cellular didn’t announce the price of its HTC Desire.
