Nicholas Tse does not want gifted son to go into showbiz
Celebrity couple Nicholas Tse and Cecilia Cheung are overjoyed when they recently found out that their son Lucas has a high IQ of more than 130, but are still split over whether or not to let him go into showbiz, said Hong Kong media.
While the gifted two-year-old probably did not get his intellect from his parents (his father was a school dropout while his mother did not attend high school at all), he appears to have inherited his parent's looks.
The child is good looking, very sociable and not at all camera-shy, making him an ideal candidate to follow his parent's footsteps and become part of the entertainment industry.
These traits, coupled with his status as the progeny of the high profile celebrity couple, has also attracted advertisers in droves.
Lucas was reportedly offered an endorsement deal worth millions to plug a brand of milk powder a while ago, but the elder Tse, 30, turned it down even though his wife supported the idea. The couple was said to have argued over the matter.
Tse, who himself is the son of popular Hong Kong celebrities Patrick Tse and Deborah Lee, had been in the media spotlight ever since he was young and he reportedly did not want his son to grow up the same way and go into showbiz.
The actor had expressed that he wants Lucas, who is currently enrolled in a prestigious international school, to become a doctor or a lawyer instead.
Cheung, on the other hand, is now worried about how her second son, due to be born in May, will react to having such an exceptional older brother in the future.
