Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise Steal the Movie Awards

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards got off to a filthy, curse-laden and hysterical start thanks to Tom Cruise -- err, Les Grossman a la 'Tropic Thunder' -- and the ridiculousness known to go hand-in-hand with MTV awards shows continued. As Cruise made several cameos -- including an in-person ditty with J-Lo, the night's most poignant moment came courtesy of Sandra Bullock, who made her first public appearance since the Oscars ... and since the cheating scandal that sent her personal life into rubble

After Cruise's raunchy bit and an opening from host Aziz Ansari, the first award of the night went to Kristen Stewart for Best Female Performance. The night's second prize for Breakthrough Performance went to 'Up In the Air' starlet Anna Kendrick

Cruise's reincarnation as Les Grossman continued through the night, as he did his signature Ludacris dance and even did an amazing duet with Jennifer Lopez.

The night's most anticipated moment came when Sandra Bullock accepted her Generation Award. Speaking in public for the first time since her personal life imploded thanks to Jesse James' infidelity scandal, the Oscar winner received a standing ovation from the crowd before taking the mic.

Wearing a sequined black dress, Bullock addressed the crowd in her speech by saying she just wants to "go back to normal" and that she's "not going anywhere."

Though she never directly mentioned James or the scandal itself, Bullock certainly alluded to it. She made a statement with: "No matter what you might have seen or heard or read lately, I like what I'm doing and I'm not going anywhere. Speaking of what you might have seen or heard, I wanted to clarify some things: Number one, I'm not dead. Number two, everyone has cellulite, not just me."

She then went on to share a brief kiss with Scarlett Johansson, who said she admired Bullock's kiss with Ryan Reynolds in 'The Proposal.' So, to quell ScarJo's desires, Sandy planted one on her (photo evidence to the right.

In the night's coveted Best Kiss award (hey, it's the MTV awards), Kristen Stewart found herself back onstage with her 'Twilight' co-star Robert Pattinson thanks to their on-screen liplock. "I guess what we're supposed to do is kiss each other ..." and then the rumored-to-be-dating couple came thisclose to kissing, but left the audience hanging.

Not surprisingly, given the MTV crowd's penchant for all things 'Twilight,' Robert Pattinson scored a trophy for Best Male Performance. Rocking his newly-cropped hair, Pattinson thanked everyone -- including his parents for conceiving him.

As for musical acts, both Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera took the stage, with neither really able to cause a stir or much of a reaction. Perry was '70s retro fabulous during her performance of 'California Gurrls,' coming out onstage with huge glittered sunglasses and high-waisted shorts (sequined as well). As usual with Perry, a whole lot of cleavage accompanied the performance.

Aguilera made her stage return after a big of a musical hiatus following her baby, going goth-rock with leather-clad dancers swarming around her and lights coming out of the palms of her hands. Here and there, a dancer would grope Aguilera, but by all Xtina standards, it was a tame performance.

Bullock made a surprise appearance Saturday night at Spike TV's "Guys Choice" event in Culver City, Calif., but that show won't be broadcast until June 20. She received a standing ovation when she accepted the "Troops Choice" Award for Entertainer of The Year, from presenter Robert Downey, Jr. The award was voted on by members of the military.

The 45-year-old actress has kept a low profile since James' affair became public shortly after she won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in "The Blind Side" on March 7.
