Verizon Droid Incredible ->Droid X exchange confirmed for July 15th. Incredible won’t be phased out

I’m a bit tired reporting about Verizon Droid Incredible delivery delays by now. The next post I want to publish about it, would be “Droid Incredible shortages resolved”.

Alas, I don’t expect such good news until HTC gets those replacement SLCD displays from Sony.

But, I do have one bit bit of good news for Droid fans, who preordered HTC Incredible, with delivery date past mid-July. You will be able to exchange Incredible for Droid X, as soon as it is available on Verizon, on July 15th.

Here’s what Verizon had to say to us about the topic:
“The Droid Incredible by HTC, as you know, definitely lives up to its
name and is a fantastic device. It has proven to be very, very
popular with our customers. Should a customer who has ordered a Droid
Incredible decide that the Droid X (or any other device) better meets
his/her needs, he/she can take advantage of the Verizon Wireless Worry
Free Guarantee and choose the Droid X when it goes on sale July 15.
Customers cannot pre-order the Droid X with us.”

And, yes. Verizon was pretty adamant that you can not pre-order Droid X with them. Just go to the shop on July 15th, if you really want to get one. Or try Best Buy, who are accepting Droid X pre-orders.

In another bit of Verizon Droid Incredible news – about those nasty rumors that Incredible being phased out? As we suspected, they were a load of crap, and Verizon denied them explicitly to MobileBurn.
