Chinese heavenly king Jay Chou holds his first concert at the Taipei Arena. From the opening effects, white feathers, flames and the virtual Jay, it was a super "diao" concert.This is his 4th tour in his 10 year career, he is holding 3 nights of "The Era" concert. It is said to have cost 86 million yuan, and he also spent 5 million yuan to rent out the Linkou Sports Centre to rehearse. Due to it being Jay Chou's first concert for 3 years, he was not low profile at all.
During the opening scene, the "360 degrees floating virtual image" displayed a pre-recorded image of Jay Chou in a transparent triangular pyramid in midair. He played a white feathered guitar, and suddenly he turns into flames and his real self appears. Enjoying the support from tens of thousands of fans, the new technology is called over 4D.
Jay Chou went from warrior, hero of time, duke to leopard print, prince, diamond hip hop to Chinese style suit. He kept on changing, and it was glamorous and dazzling. He also showed his skill in music.
Playing while singing, hip hop, lyrical, Jay Chou showed off his dance moves, "Give Me The Time For One Song" was the result of intense practise. He said: "Thank you to the friends who have been with me for the last 10 years...please remember, I won't fall down so easily, I'm Jay Chou."
You had no time but to look at the effects. It showed the concept of a "future world", and just the pre-recorded clips alone took Jay Chou 2 days, and he also got bruises from hanging from wires. Finally the king arrived on earth, and when he was singing "Simple Love", he came out from the audience, and it practically caused a fans rebellion.
This was Jay Chou's first time in the Taipei Arena, and he dragged along his label mates onto the stage. Lara turned into a Indian dancing diva, Cindy Yen played and sang, Gary Yang and The Drifters also performed. His mother and grandmother of course sat in guest seats.
Mark Chao, Hebe, Selina all came, "back to friends" Show Luo sent a big flower basket and he also rushed over to support his buddy as soon as his commercial was finished. He also unexpectedly got to sit with ex-girlfriend Selina. Besides this, with rumoured suggestions of a reunion, Jolin Tsai sent flowers to show her support, Edison Chen, Guai Lun Mei also sent flowers.
