Julianne Moore Bulgari Ad Banned In Venice

Actress Julianne Moore is looking fab at 49 — but try telling that to the censors in Venice!

A saucy jewelry ad featuring the actress/author wearing diamonds and a smile has been booted in the Italian city after officials there deemed the billboard “inappropriate.”

Moore stripped off for a recent shoot for Bulgari handbags and plans were in place to erect a promotional poster in the city’s famous St Mark’s Square. But Venice’s recently elected mayor, Giorgio Orsoni, deemed the picture – which shows Moore posing with two lion cubs and a strategically-placed handbag — too risque for public consumption.

“An advertisement showing a nude woman on a divan is not appropriate for St Mark’s Square,” Orsoni said.

The billboard will be replaced with a less racy one of the actress fully dressed and modeling Bulgari jewelry.
