Telephone singer Lady Gaga has become the most popular person on Twitter after beating Britney Spears into second place.Gaga, 24, now has 5,735,554 followers on the social networking site while Spears, 28, has 5,701,236 as of Monday August 23.
Pop singer Spears only had the title record for a few months after stealing it off King of Twitter Ashton Kutcher.
Although Famecount.com believe Gaga could face competition for the title from teen singer Justin Bieber, who is receiving a staggering 800,000 more followers each month.
It is thought he may steal her crown within six months.
