Sandra Bullock Wins Teen Choice Award
Sandra Bullock didn't walk the blue carpet at the Teen Choice Awards, but that doesn't mean she wasn't there.
The actress, 46, surprised the crowd at L.A.'s Universal Amphitheater on Sunday, when she accepted the award for choice movie actress in a drama for her Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side.
Bullock – dressed in a gray top, black leather pants and high heels – came on stage and thanked cheering fans. "I don't know if you should bring attention to this. Some things are better left unsaid. It's been awhile since I was a teen," she said. "I'm so blessed and lucky. The Blind Side – I got to meet so many good people, so many good lessons I took away from it."
Then, Bullock invited her "sweet friend" Betty White, who she joked hadn't been a teen "since 1919," onto the stage. "I was worried about her fitting in but that's not the problem," Bullock said. "The problem is she was supposed to jump in on my line, so Betty get your ass out on this stage!"
The two then shimmied together to Lil Jon's "Get Low."
Other people to walk away with surfboards included Selena Gomez, Channing Tatum, Taylor Lautner, Megan Fox and the cast of Glee.
Katy Perry, who hosted the event, kicked off the night on a colorful and flashy stage with a performance of her latest song, "Teenage Dream." R&B singer Jason Derulo and Perry's ex-boyfriend Travis McCoy also performed.
Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber accepted an award and performed "U Smile" via satellite.
During the show, the world was also introduced to "the fourth" Kardashian sister, when comedian George Lopez – dressed in drag as "Cougar Kardashian" – joined Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian on stage to present an award.
The Teen Choice Awards air Monday (8 p.m. EST) on FOX.
