Not welcome! Paris Hilton denied access to Japan after cocaine arrest
It was another bad day for Paris Hilton today.
The heiress was detained and questioned for six hours over her recent arrest for cocaine possession after landing at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan last night - questioning that resulted in Hilton being declined entrance into the country.
Paris had flown via private jet to Tokyo with her sister Nicky, 26, where they were due to debut their fall/winter fashion collections.
The 29-year-old socialite was detained at immigration and questioned over her recent, well publicised, arrest and conviction of cocaine possession and obstructing justice.
After six hours talking with immigration officials in the airport Hilton was told she would have to remain at an airport hotel until the issue was resolved.
It is unknown if Paris will stay or fly back to the United States.
Hilton was arrested last month, along with her boyfriend Cy Waits, in Las Vegas after Cy was pulled over for suspected DUI.
Hilton was found to have just under a gram of cocaine in her purse which she then tried to claim did not belong to her.
She was officially charged yesterday and given one years suspended jail sentence, a $2000 fine and 200 hours of community service as part of a plea deal, just hours before she boarded the plane to Japan.
A representative for the heiress issued a statement explaining the problem.
'Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier,' the statement read.
'Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans.'
