What's wrong Paris? Hilton heiress looks concerned and unhappy on her final day in paradise

She was meant to be enjoying an end of summer holiday on a tropical island.

But it appears as thought the reality of what was waiting for her at home finally had an effect on Paris Hilton, putting a dampener on the end of her Hawaiian vacation.

The reality star and socialite was seen looking anxious and worried as she sat outside a cafe, alone, in Paia on he island of Maui yesterday just hours before she was due to fly home to LA and back to the aftermath of her recent drug arrest for cocaine possession.

Paris jetted out to the tropical island on Saturday with her boyfriend, Las Vegas club promoter Cy Waits, to celebrate Labor Day weekend.

The couple fled Los Angeles after being arrested the previous weekend while in Las Vegas.

Cy, who was a car in which Paris was a passenger, was pulled over by police and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

When the police searched Paris they found cocaine in a purse being held by the star and promptly arrested her for possession of narcotics.

Both Paris and Cy spent the night in a the local lock-up before being released on bail.

Paris is likely to face charges of possession when the case is brought before a Nevada judge later this month and risks going back to prison if found guilty.

She was previously incarcerated in 2007 after violating her probation on a double DUI charge.

During her romantic getaway she's been looking far from bothered though.

The 29-year-old has been pictured frolicking in the surf and walking hand in hand along the beach with her recently unemployed boyfriend.

With a smile permanently plastered on her face Hilton has looked like she hasn't a care in the world, taking time to pose and preen for the waiting paparazzi as she strutted her stuff in a leopard skin swimsuit.

And Hilton was tweeting up a storm during her time on the paradise island. Saturday night she tweeted: 'Cooked a delicious lasagna dinner for my love and watched a movie. Now going to bed. Sweet dreams everyone. Xo Paris.'

Then on Sunday Hilton tweeted cheerfully throughout the day: 'I Love Scuba Diving - Look a rainbow for good luck,' she wrote. 'I felt like Ariel the little mermaid under the sea today. So much fun!...I love Maui.'

She didn't just frolic with her boyfriend though, Hilton also took in a little culture - hitting up some local art galleries: 'There are so many amazing art galleries in Maui,' she wrote. 'I love it!...so many unique pieces of work.'
