Fish Leong and Van Ness Wu becoming new label-mates at Universal Music
After Fish Leong’s contract ended with Bin Music, she went to Ge Fuhong’s management company. Many record companies have been negotiating a record deal with the songstress, but it has just been announced that Fish will be joining Universal Music, becoming label-mates with veteran singers Jacky Cheung and Eason Chan. Fish plans to release a new album by the end of the year and it is estimated that album sales will start from one million copies across the Mainland, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia. In addition to album sales, Fish’s 100+ live show performances per year will bring in about a hundred million dollars – it’s likely that her signing bonus will be around this amount although Universal Music refuses to verify.
Fish’s manager Jiang Yi-Peng expressed, “(We) cannot reveal the amount of the signing bonus. (We) hope that we can reach this sum in the future.”
In addition to Fish, Van Ness Wu will also be signing with University Music. The record company will be holding an official press conference in Hong Kong on the 25th and 26th for their signing.
