Lin Chiling botches live singing attempt at Taipei concert

Taiwan supermodel Lin Chiling should probably stick to the catwalk if her performance at the Taipei International Flora Exposition Concert in Taipei on Sunday is any indication of where her talents lie.She sang the song "Beautiful Strength", which she wrote the lyrics for, live on stage with about 30 children but went out of tune on a number of occasions.
Originally slated to lip-synch the song, Lin ended up singing live after the encouragement of the production crew.
When asked how she rated her performance, Lin, who donned a flowing white gown adorned with flower-themed ornaments for the concert, became a little embarrassed.
"I don't dare to give myself a mark; I actually hoped to go on stage and just do a runway show," said the 36-year-old model, before finally admitting that she felt she earned "a passing grade".
Other performers at the concert, which was held to create buzz for the Taipei International Flora Exposition (TIFE) that opens on November 6, included Asian superstar Jay Chou, Taiwan pop trio S.H.E and rock band Mayday.
The TIFE will feature 1,500 species of plants from all over Taiwan in a specially designed showroom.
Taiwan's first energy-saving smart greenhouse will also be on display.
