Sheren Tang, Wayne Lai, Fala Chen, Raymond Wong, Susan Tse, and Pierre Ngo etc attended to the promotion event of new series "No Regrets"(aka Rosy Business 2) yesterday. All actors are very confident in the series. This is another great work from producer Lee Tim Sing and he promised if the series didn't receive good ratings, he would return to his village to clean cow dung! Wayne and Fala chimed in saying that they would go back to the village with producer Lee and help him to clean cow dung as well as plow the land. Sheren joked she would use the cow dung they collect to open an organic farm.
Sheren made sure it was clear ahead of time that when they were filming "No Regrets", the cast and crew worked very harmoniously together and got along perfectly fine, so if during future promotions there are rumors of so-and-so being on bad terms, it absolutely won't be true. Full of confidence, Sheren also teased Wayne, reminding him that last year, he had promised that if "Rosy Business" exceeded the ratings of "Dae Jang Geum", he would treat the cast to a trip to Korea -- so will it be the same this time around for "No Regrets"? Wayne replied: "No, can't this time because there is a high probability that I will actually need to treat." Wayne also revealed that recently Sheren has made alot of money, so if treating, they should both contribute money."
Asked Wayne whether he's confident ratings of "No Regrets" can break Korean drama aired on TVB several years ago "Dae Jang Geum" he expressed that nowadays, since the ratings include HDTV, even without counting online viewers, he is confident in breaking the record (50 points). He also stated that the current 'highest ratings' record holder being a Korean drama is a bit odd, so he hopes the audiences will support "No Regrets". Wayne indicated that treating the cast to a trip was only a joke, but if the ratings are good, he and Sheren will treat the cast to dinner, so he hopes the premiere episode can have a rating of 38 points. Wayne also has alot of confidence in "No Regrets", praising the storyline as being able to touch the hearts of the audience. Asked if he is confident that "No Regrets" can beat out "Can't Buy Me Love" for the 'Best Series' award, Wayne replied: ""Can't Buy Me Love" is a comedy, so there's a little bit of a disadvantage in that regard." (Hoping for a repeat win for TV King?) "For myself, it doesn't matter".
Also confident about the ratings, Sheren expressed that "No Regrets" is a series that audiences will want to rush home to watch. She said that the day after the first episode airs, she will be in mainland China working, so unfortunately won't get to experience the 'excitement' over the premiere. She says: "Originally, I was scheduled to leave the day of the premiere, however I insisted on staying in Hong Kong to watch the first episode, so that night, I won't be doing anything else except watching TV."
In addition, at the promotion event, it was revealed that after her 'daring' exposure scene in last year's "Stew of Life", Fala Chen will have another revealing scene in this series. Fala emphasized that the intent of both scenes are completely different -- for her scene in "No Regrets", she is sacrificing for her family. Asked if it will be more 'daring' than last time, Fala didn't reply, choosing to keep everyone in suspense -- she says that she believes the audiences won't be concerned with just seeing her figure, but rather will be moved by the story itself as well as the character. Fala also indicated that she is confident in the series getting 'Best Series' award, but as to whether she herself will win an award, she will leave that to the audience's judgment.
It was also reported recently that director/screenwriter Wong Chun Chun criticized HK television actors as being 'robotic' when it comes to acting out certain facial expressions. Pierre Ngo indicated that the method for filming TV series and movies is completely different. He replied: "Ms Wong is a professional director -- I will accept her feedback and pay more attention to my facial expressions when acting."
