'Dragon Tattoo' star Rooney Mara breaks her silence
Ever since she was picked to play Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s upcoming adapatation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Rooney Mara has given the press the silent treatment, granting no interviews or quotes — a play straight out of the Salander handbook.
But to celebrate her inclusion in EW‘s Entertainers of the Year issue — alongside her Social Network cast-mates — Mara emailed EW her very first dispatch from the Dragon Tattoo set in Stockholm, Sweden, poking fun at Fincher’s well-known penchant for doing dozens of takes.
“It’s -9 degrees Celsius. 37 takes down, only about 42 more to go,” she writes. “Every time he says, ‘Okay, last one,’ I fall for it. Every. Single. Time. If only I could get this damn shrug right, then maybe I could go inside and my nipple ring would have time to thaw out…”
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 21, 2011.
