Nokia N900 Android dual-boot hack [Video]

Nokia’s N900 is undoubtedly a tempting smartphone, but the Maemo 5 OS it runs still comes across as an enthusiast’s platform rather than a consumer-ready one. Thankfully one such enthusiast has decided to tinker with the ARM-based N900 itself, and the end result is a handset that can dual-boot both Maemo and Android.




Brandon Roberts is the man responsible for the dual-booting marvel, and while he’s describing it more as a proof of concept right now than a workable solution, from what little is shown in the video he’s come a decent way. The keyboard seems to work, and the display is running at the N900’s WVGA resolution; a boot menu allows you to choose between Maemo and Android.

How Google's Nexus One censors cuss words

Some of you who have been basking in the beauty of your new Nexus One Googlephone may not have tried out all of its delightful features.

And what I am about to tell you may lead you to utter some naughty words. Please, go ahead. I have heard them all, in several different languages. And I respect the vehemence of the vernacular.

However, your Nexus One will not be so charmed by the vigor of your tongue. It will, dare I utter the word when referring to a product from the newly emancipated Google, censor you.

You see, the pungently polite people at Reuters were playing with their Nexus One when they noticed something about its built-in voice-to-text feature.

Every time they said something naughty into the phone, the naughty word came out as "####"--and not just "f---." It even censored the "S" part of BS.

Frankie Loves Daughter to Death; Kenix Will Continue to Have Children

With the birth of their daughter, Frankie Lam and Kenix Kwok changed a lot. Recently, Frankie and Kenix, along with their newborn baby, sat down for an interview with “Mingpao Weekly” magazine – showing the great happiness of this now “three person” family. Though Frankie has hired a “sitter” to help Kenix out with the baby, he himself is also taking 2 months off from work to take care of mother and daughter. In fact, he is already showing his good “parenting” skills, as he personally gives his daughter a bath, feeds her, as well as burps her; Kenix even revealed that Frankie is so in love with his daughter that he kisses the baby from head to toe.

This loving father is also a very considerate husband – when Kenix was still in the hospital after having the baby, she had to stay in bed and wasn’t able to get up, even to shower. Everyday, Frankie would go to the hospital to help his wife bathe and sometimes would even squat on the floor to help wash her feet. For Frankie, the joy of becoming a father is a priceless treasure – now, every time he drives outside, he notices how beautiful the world is.

For a few hours a couple weeks ago, there was a rumor that said Adam Lambert would appear on Glee. It was quickly shot down.



However, the singer has made it clear he'd be open to appearing on various TV shows, especially if he could gaze into the eyes of a certain shaggy-haired CW star on one of them.

“As long as I can do a scene opposite Chace Crawford, I’d be happy,” the former American Idol runner-up recently said. “I just want a couple moments where I can just look and be like, hmmmm. Just some eye contact and I’ll be really happy.”

She recently denied claims she'd had a chunk of her hip airbrushed away on the cover of a U.S. magazine.



But now it looks like Demi Moore will be facing fresh question over a new perfume ad in which she appears to have been heavily photoshopped.

An original picture of the 47-year-old actress, posted on Twitter by husband Ashton Kutcher last March, shows the actress reclining in a near-identical pose to the ad.

Kutcher, 31, took the behind-the-scenes snap during the shoot last year. But in the campaign pictures - for a new Helena Rubinstein perfume - Demi has been overhauled.

Tablet launch, earnings mean big week for Apple

Few events can steal the thunder from an Apple Inc quarterly earnings day -- an Apple product launch is one of them.

The company releases quarterly results on Monday, but Wall Street is waiting for Wednesday, when Apple could unveil a new tablet computer that investors hope will be as huge a phenomenon as its iconic iPod and iPhone.

The week could provide a pair of long-term catalysts for Apple's stock. But the company's shares often sell off right after major launches after months of rumor fuel big expectations.

Little is known about the device, despite a rabid fan following speculating on everything from the component makers to its shape and form. Industry watchers are bullish. They say Apple's obsession to detail gives the so-called "iSlate" a big edge in a computer category that had been deemed a failure.

"If Apple is going to design a product, then it's going to be the best design in the marketplace," said Broadpoint Amtech analyst Brian Marshall. "To bet that it's going to be a flop is a bad bet."

Most analysts have not factored the tablet into estimates for fiscal 2010, but sell-siders have been busy lifting price targets on Apple's stock in the past month.

Wonder Girls’ new member Hae Lim revealed!

Just hours ago, JYP Entertainment released an official statement that Wonder Girls member Mimi (Sunmi) would be leaving the group to fulfill her academic goals. Mimi would however continue to visit the JYP offices to dance and train during her hiatus. Whether Mimi will return as a Wonder Girl however, is still unknown.



With that said, photos of Hae Lim, the newest addition to the Wonder Girls have been revealed. Hae Lim is 17 years old, born in Hong Kong and of South Korean descent. She has been training at the JYP Academy for three years and she is fluent in four languages: English, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Cassies voice their support for TVXQ to Ellen Degeneres

A couple of days ago, actress, TV host, and comedian Ellen DeGeneres left a blog post on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ website asking people for international music suggestions. Ever since the post went up, TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki’s fanbase, strong>Cassiopeia, has bombarded the site with recommendations for TVXQ!

Cassies left comments on her site stating things such as, “TVXQ! Reason why you’ll love them? Simple. Because they’re all-in-one package” (Nabila Ghaisani). Hopefuls even commented, “Cassiopeians would rush to their televisions if they heard that DBSK would be appearing on your show!” (Username Milk). And although other idol bands such as SS501, Big Bang and 2PM were also suggested, the power of the Cassies seemed to overwhelm the Triple S, VIPs, and the Hottests combined!
