Charts: KinKi Kids, Kuwata on top; GReeeeN reaches 1 million

"J album," the newly released 11th original album by the popular KinKi Kids, has taken the #1 spot on this week's sales charts. At 170,000 copies sold, it managed to overcome EXILE's "Aisubeki Mirai e," which sold close to 167,000 copies in its second week.

UVERworld's "Neo SOUND BEST" also just came out, selling 108,000 copies to rank #3. Lil'B saw their latest album reach #5, and Mai Satoda with Gouda Kazoku achieved #8.

In singles, Keisuke Kuwata was #1 with his "Kimi ni Sayonara wo," moving 71,000 copies. The rest of the top five were also new releases, coming from w-inds., BoA, GACKT, and L'Arc~en~Ciel (a reissue of their "Hurry Xmas"). Shota Shimizu's new song entered the charts at #8.

This week also saw GReeeeN's album "Shio, Kosho" (released in June) finally reach one million in actual sales, becoming just the second album this year to achieve that, after Arashi's "All the BEST! 1999-2009." This is GReeeeN's first million-seller, and in the 42 years of Oricon's sales charts, it is the only million-seller by an artist that has never been publicly seen. The group's faces have remained a secret ever since they debuted in 2007 while they were all dentistry students.
