First Nokia vs Apple trials to take place in 2012. Nokia apparently wants $1.3 billion from Apple
The Nokia vs. Apple legal battle over patents won’t be over anytime soon. It looks like the first actual trials will start only in 2012, when a U.S. court should decide which company infringed which patents.
According to Reuters and some unmentioned analysts, Nokia seeks damages in cash of up to $1.36 billion from Apple.
The Finnish phone maker filed a suit against Apple back in October last year, claiming that the Cupertino company’s iPhone infringes 10 of its patents. Apple responded with a countersuit in December, saying that it’s actually Nokia which infringes 13 of its patents. Apple later removed four patents from the claiming, but this has not stopped Nokia to counter-countersuit the iPhone maker with another complaint (also filed in December).
Meanwhile, Apple has also sued HTC, obviously also for alleged patent infringements.
Am I the only one who thinks all this is just a waste of money and time?
