"Titans" Leads Foreign Box Office for 4th Weekend

"Clash of the Titans" ruled the foreign box office for a fourth weekend on Sunday, but its offshore domination will likely end this week as "Iron Man 2" kicks off in six markets.


"Clash" claimed an estimated $32 million from 60 markets during the weekend, raising its overseas total to $240.4 million. "Iron Man 2" is set to debut this week in countries including Brazil and France, to get a head start on the June 11-July 11 World Cup.

"Alice in Wonderland" was No. 2 for the weekend, tallying $26.7 million from 54 markets in its eighth round. A Brazil bow generated $5.7 million, Disney's biggest market gross ever for this market. Director Tim Burton's 3D re-imagining of the Lewis Carroll classic has earned $548.5 million to date overseas.



North American champ "How to Train Your Dragon" was the No. 3 draw overseas, luring $11 million from 60 markets. So far, the cartoon has grossed a total of $194 million overseas.

Logging in at No. 4 on the weekend was the strong first-place finisher in France, "Camping 2." a comedy sequel about an insurance company worker taking his girlfriend camping. It pulled in about $10 million.

"Date Night" finished at No. 5, with $7 million from 48 markets. The overseas haul so far for the marital action comedy stands at $27.5 million. A No. 1 opening in the U.K. produced $1.9 million.

Offshore newcomers included "The Back-Up Plan," the romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez, which debuted at No. 2 in Mexico and No. 4 the Philippines. "Hot Tub Time Machine" opened at No. 1 in Australia.
