Vicki Zhao remains tight-lipped about pregnancy
Though photos of Chinese actress Vicki Zhao sporting a baby bump have been splashed across the tabloids and Internet, the "14 Blades" star remains tight-lipped about her pregnancy.
She is believed to be expecting a child with Chinese property magnate Huang You Long and is due to deliver next month. She is currently residing in Singapore.
In a recent interview with a Chinese magazine, the 34-year-old actress stated that even if she got married, she would not announce it to the public, as there is no need to explain her private life to anyone.
Describing her personal life as one that "meets social and legal norms", she said, "It's very normal. I am just not used to sharing this with everybody, it's just gossip."
Speaking about her current situation, Zhao said that she was far from being in a 'rich family', describing herself as a strong, independent woman.
"Every time I hear the words 'tycoon' and 'rich family', I get goosebumps and think of Hong Kong and Taiwan dramas in the 1980s. It's vulgar and strange to attach those words to people."
Making a vague statement about her personal life, Zhao expressed throughout the interview that "many things do not develop and end the way you want it. There are a lot of factors that prevent them from happening."
She does remain optimistic on love, saying, "I hope I can always believe in love. I think I have to believe."
