Andy Lau runs into his "illegitimate daughters"
Andy Lau had just earlier confirmed the relationship and status of his wife Carol Chu, but two nights ago, he was accompanied by his twin "girls" to record for TVB's "Jade Solid Gold", so does he want to reveal the other members of his family? Obviously, this is not true, these two "girls" are the new Singaporean group By2, who were once mistakenly rumoured to be Andy's illegitimate daughters. The three individuals ran into each other for the first time in Hong Kong, and Andy generously took photos with them.
By2 praises Andy as being caring
By2 consists of older sister Miko and Yumi, who are both 18 this year. They laughed, "The first time we saw Andy was at the Shanghai Expo function, but this is the first time we've met face to face. He's really caring, and greets everyone he sees, hopefully we'll get an opportunity to act on the same stage." Don't you girls feel awkward running into him? "Yeah, a little bit, he seemed a bit distant from us. The photos that were circulating earlier on the internet were of us when we were 12, and we were a bit scared when netizens said that we were Andy's illegitimate daughters." Would you call him your dad? "That would be really weird, so we probably wouldn't do it, but we HAVE thought of this interesting but strange question."
After taking a group photo with By2, Andy laughed, "I have heard of the rumours of them being my daughters, and today I finally get to meet them. It's actually the problem of the news reporters, maybe they didn't know how to explain it. We greeted each other just now, hopefully they will work hard."
Denied shaving head in private
To rumours that he shaved his head in private during the filming of "The New Shaolin Temple" to portray his character turning from evil to good, Andy said, "I don't think it's my position to say, you can ask the boss or the director. My character was always going to turn from evil to good. We already mentioned this when we started filming, and I requested that my head not need shaving, because I have to film a young film character afterwards. But afterwards, the director convinced me to shave my head anyways, now that the magazines are reporting this, it's just so bizarre."
No pressure to earn awards
Mentioning his award of "World Outstanding Chinese" and Honourary Doctor's Award from the University, Andy happily replied, "I want to thank them for giving me this award." Will he be burdened by these huge awards? "They have given me these awards based on my past performances, so as long as I keep up my standard, it will be fine. I will continue to give back to the community as well as present the best of myself in my work, and in the future I will focus on giving more time to the disabled peoples."
