Rumor: Apple places orders for 10 million CDMA iPhones. Verizon impatiently waiting

Apple and AT&T signed a 5-year iPhone exclusivity agreement back in 2007, but the deal may have been canceled, especially since we’re now hearing that Apple has just placed orders for a CDMA iPhone.
According to DigiTimes, Pegatron Technology is the company that will manufacture the CDMA iPhone for Apple – and it’s said that it should ship about 10 million units per year, starting August or September this year.
If this is true, Verizon will most likely sell the CDMA iPhone in the US, although there are also rumors that Sprint will get the iPhone, too.
We can’t tell yet if the CDMA iPhone is similar to the recently-appeared 4th generation iPhone, but let’s hope Apple will shed some light on this on June 7, when at least one new iPhone should be officially announced.
Pegatron is based in Taiwan and it’s an Asustek Computer spin-off that has worked until now with companies like Dell and Toshiba.
