Perez Hilton recently posted a picture of the 17 year old Miley Cyrus on his Twitter that has caused a great deal of controversy around the blogosphere. That is because the picture showed Cyrus hopping out of a car, wearing a dress without any panties on, and her private parts exposed. We have become used to the sight, as a number of stars have been caught in a similar position in recent years, but the fact that she is only 17 years old is causing quite a stir.
A number of individuals have stated that they believe that the picture constitutes as child pornography, and that Perez Hilton should be charged with something in the wake of the controversy. Others have said that it was an honest mistake and that they should leave Perez Hilton alone.
What does Miley Cyrus think of the picture? When she was asked about it on the Ryan Seacrest radio show early in the morning, she said that she thought that Perez Hilton was an “idiot.”
“That’s like, some idiot being an idiot, you know what I’m saying?,” she said to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning.
Miley Cyrus told fans on the show that her record is as clean as a whistle, and assured them that when they buy the album, they will not be receiving any wild surprises that they were not expect. A sigh of relief from parents around the nation can be heard. Some had speculated that the Cyrus album would be much more provocative than her earlier efforts because of her recent change in image and wardrobe.
Perez starting to lose ads over Miley flap
Perez Hilton, aka Mario Lavandeira, might not yet be facing legal action after tweeting a provocative picture of teen star Miley Cyrus, but he is facing repercussions from advertisers. A rep for ABC Daytime confirms that a rotating banner ad promoting “The View” was pulled from the celebrity blogger’s website, PerezHilton.com.
At press time, earlier reports that MTV pulled ads for TV Land were confirmed to be untrue, but one well-placed source within ABC said that it’s not out of the realm of possibility that more advertisers could follow ABC’s lead.
“It’s not a matter of whether you like (Lavandeira) or not, it has to do with the morality of the issue. Miley is a minor, period. There are ethics involved in running an ad on a site that potentially violated the rights of a minor, and that is what the conversation is about at the network level,” said the source.
Lavandeira did not respond to requests for comment.
