Blake Lively Interview Magazine Fall Fashion Issue: “Sex Scene With Ben Affleck Awkward”
Blake Lively talks sex scenes and Ben Affleck in the Fall Fashion Issue of Interview Magazine. The stunning blonde appears alongside the Oscar winner in the upcoming drama The Town — hitting theaters Sept. 18. — and was unnerved when she arrived on set for the first day of shooting and discovered that her duties called for a faux roll in the hay with the married dad, 38.
“Well, I have a big family and no one ever treated me like a child,” the 23-year-old starlet explains. “They always treated me like an adult, like an equal. But with acting, I think half of it is just acting confident. We stand on these red carpets and pose in these dresses, but we’re all only so confident. It doesn’t mean we think we’re great looking or anything. It’s all a facade. But the sex scene was really awkward. It was my first day, so thank you for that.”
Blake’s latest role as Ben’s troubled on-screen ex-girlfriend, Krista – a 29-year-old single mother from the projects who deals drugs to make ends meet – required the California girl to learn to speak with a lower-class Boston accent. After a few weeks, Blake ditched her dialect coach and turned instead to her Bostonian friend and Gossip Girl hairdresser for firsthand training.
Though Blake hails from a showbiz family — her dad, Ernie, is a character actor; her mother, Elaine, is a talent manager; and her four older siblings are all current or former actors — Blake told celeb interviewer Ben that she initially had no desire to try her luck in Hollywood.
“He [Blake’s brother, Eric] talked me into going to this audition,” Blake said. “I just did the first one to be nice because he was always so great to me, but then I ended up going to a few more auditions… after a few auditions I got ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,’ which was my first job.”
Blake will next be seen in 2011’s The Green Lantern, in which the Gossip Girl hottie will play Carol Ferris alongside Canadian hunk Ryan Reynolds.
