Country cutie Taylor Swift shares the love at the CMA Festival

Taylor Swift made sure to make time for her adoring public at the CMA Festival: Country's Night To Rock last night in Nashville.

The 20-year-old singer spent time talking to some lucky fans and was even seen cuddling a couple of their young children.

Swift was performing at the event along with Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Carrie Underwood.

The music extravaganza was held to raise money for victims of the massive flood that hit Nashville in May.

It's been estimated that around $2 billion worth of damage was caused to the Nashville, which is dubbed 'Music City'.

Swift delighted the crowds when she performed her new single Mine.

And it isn't just her time that she's given up to victims of the flood - Swift has donated $100,000 (£64,400) to her hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee.

The funds will be used to build a new playground for the town's children as well as new volleyball courts.

Hendersonville spokesman Dave LeMarbre said: 'It's overwhelming. We didn't expect that.

'We appreciate Taylor's donation as well as all the others who have stepped up.'

It's been an amazing year so far for Swift.

In February she became the youngest artist ever to win a coveted Album of the Year Grammy.

In doing so Swift broke a record held since 1996 by Alanis Morissette, who was 21 when she won for Jagged Little Pill, an album with decidedly more adult content.

Swift was also the first solo female country winner ever of the award, and the first female pop winner since Celine Dion won in 1997 for Falling Into You.

It capped a fairytale rise for the country-pop starlet, who last year only had a marginal role in the ceremony and has since enjoyed phenomenal success with her album Fearless.

The country singer, who rocketed to stardom with ballads of teen love that she wrote on her bedroom floor, took home four awards after being nominated eight times.

She also won the Grammy for best country album, and a pair of awards for her song White Horse - female country vocal performance and best country song.

Backstage, Swift told reporters that despite her crossover success in the pop field, she still considered country music her first love.

'Country music is absolutely going to be my home because of the stories that are told within country music,' she said.
