Emma Watson: ‘Potter Not Sexy Like Twilight’
EMMA Watson insists the Harry Potter films are nothing like Twilight — because they aren’t “selling sex” like the smash hit vampire franchise.
The actress — who has played Hermione Granger in the wizard film franchise since 2001 — says her kiss between her and Rupert Grint in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is “highly anticipated” because there have been no other sexual scenes in the movie series, unlike Twilight.
“This kiss between Hermione and Ron is highly anticipated, it’s been building up for eight films now,” she said.
“And Harry Potter is not Twilight, you know; we’re not selling sex. So, whenever there is any hint of that, everybody gets terribly excited. In fact, it was horribly awkward; we couldn’t stop laughing.
“The nicest thing about it was, before we did it, we turned to each other and were like, ‘God, this is going to be awful, isn’t it?’ but hopefully it will look good.”
Watson recently admitted that she couldn’t speak for three days after her photographs from the Harry Potter set were destroyed.
“I wandered into a second-hand camera shop, and this very nice gentleman persuaded me I needed an old black-and-white film camera,” she said. “I realized I hadn’t taken any photos of the last 10 years, so this time I’ve been bugging everyone.
“It takes me about 10 minutes to take one because I have to work out the aperture, the shutter speed, the focus and everything. But the girl who was helping me develop the film accidentally turned on the light in the dark room and wiped everything. I couldn’t talk for about three days, I was devastated.”
