KARA’s new album “Girl’s Talk” breaks 6 year old record in Japan, sells over 100,000 copies
Korean five member girl group, KARA released their first Japanese original album “Girl’s Talk” on November 24th. It’s been reported that this album has sold 107,000 copies in the first week, which was good enough to place them second on the Oricon weekly chart for December 6th.
This is the first time in 6 years and 9 months for an Asian girl group (excluding Japanese ones) to sell 100,000 copies in their first week since Twelve Girls Band (Chinese instrumental band) did it back in March 2004 with the release of their album “Kikou ~Shining Energy~.”
The sales of “Girl’s Talk” is almost double that of “KARA BEST 2007-2010” first week sales (51,000 copies) which was released back in September.
