Yang HyunSeok, “Big Bang and 2NE1 will do well even if they are to debut in the American music market”

Big Bang to 2NE1, and even Se7en and Gummy. This summer, we are seeing the comeback of some of the biggest artistes in Kpop. As Yang HyunSeok word it, “YG mobilization”.


Since 2NE1′s minialbum released last July, there has not been any offline album release from YG Family. And the question is why the 1 year blank for some of the great artistes in Kpop like Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en and Gummy?

Yang HyunSeok explained, “For a singer, the contents is very important when it comes to determin win or defeat. The YG members had made use of the time to make and practise their new songs. From July, the YG singers will be back in order.”

JJ Lin will be performing at this year's Golden Melody Awards

Great news for fans of JJ Lin! The singer has been confirmed for next Saturday’s Golden Melody Awards as one of its performers. It was a rough week for the GMA organizers as they found out Korean group SS501 won’t be coming in full. Nevertheless, things are back on track with JJ Lin’s special performance, as well as 10-time nominee A-Mei and last year’s Best Male winner Jay Chou to present the award for Best Album.

Jay Chou recently said he would like to see the Best Male nominees perform together, but due to Eason Chan’s voice fatigue and Khalil Fong’s scheduling conflict, the battle of the best won’t happen this year. Fortunately, fans will get to see plenty of JJ Lin as he performs the songs of each Best Album nominee, along with his own accompaniment on the piano. The category happens to be comprised of all female singers, but JJ Lin isn’t worry about their songs being different from his range. He said he is actually more afraid of forgetting the lyrics, “This is a really difficult challenge.”

In addition to JJ Lin, Best Newcomer nominees Shadya Lan, a Chord Hsieh, Lala Xu, Alisa Galper and Soft Lipa will also being performing on the show, and then present their own category together.

‘Toy Story 3’ Has $109 Million in Sales for Pixar Record

Toy Story 3 logged the biggest debut in June history, taking in $109 million this weekend and extending Pixar's streak of opening at the top of the box office to 11.

The last film of the franchise, which debuted a decade ago and introduced Pixar Animation Studios to the world, bested its competition — and predecessors — by a mile. The original movie opened to $39.1 million in 1995, while Toy Story 2 did $83 million four years later.

This time around, the cartoon added 3-D and Imax to the mix, boosting repeat business as kids checked out the film in different formats. The movie became Imax's biggest animated movie on record, taking in $8.4 million on 180 screens.

"Given the history of Toy Story, it was great to be invited to the club," says Greg Foster of Imax. The film trumped last year's Monsters Vs. Aliens, the previous record-holder at $5.1 million.

Lindsay Lohan: Drinking or Not?

When Lindsay Lohan's SCRAM ankle monitor went off, we assumed she was drinking or tampering with it. Yet her lawyer swears a test proves she was clean. On the flip side, Judge Marsha Revel revoked Lindsay's bail immediately, issued a bench warrant and set the actress/train wreck's bail at another $100,000.


Why would she do that if Lohan were so clean?

The legitimacy of Lindsay's latest test, cited by her lawyer as proof that she is "doing great at being clean and sober," has obviously drawn some skepticism. Yesterday, Radar Online reported that Lindsay's blood-alcohol level was between .03-.04 when her ankle monitor went off at a post-MTV Movie Awards bash. Under the legal limit, absolutely. But if that's true, she also had a drink or two, in violation of the court's order - and how would she then pass a urinalysis? Time.

It's possible, even likely, that she would have a .00 BAC the morning after drinking, even relatively early. You sober up, alcohol leaves your system. Boom.

Wonder Girls & 2PM tear up California for Wonder World Tour!

The first leg of the Wonder World Tour may be over now, but the Wonder Girls and 2PM made sure to wrap it up with a bang – after roaming the East Coast, Chicago and Texas, the JYPE idol caravan finally made it to California this past weekend, hitting up Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Francisco!


There are a few things that you can only understand when you’re actually present at an event – details are often muted in blog recaps, fancams don’t always capture an artist’s presence, and even the most experienced fan isn’t necessarily able to put the energized ambiance of a concert into words. Anyone who sees the Wonder Girls & 2PM live can agree that these performers practically bleed stage charisma; just a few seconds of a song could get the crowd roaring in mere moments. You’d think that performing the same show in nine (and counting…) cities would tire you out on stage, yet the girls & guys commanded the attention of an eager, ear-splitting audience every night. At the Los Angeles show, the House of Blues was busting at the seams with attendees (including David Cook… no joke!); in Anaheim, a bra was thrown at Nichkhun twice!

Lee Hyori acknowledges plagiarism in her 4th album ‘H-Logic’

Singer Lee Hyori acknowledges that there has been plagiarism in her latest album.


Lee Hyori recently had many fans wondering why she will not be promoting the followup song for her 4th album ‘H-Logic’ after the title song ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’. She wrote on her fancafe on 20th June, “We would like to reveal that the original composer of the songs to my 4th album is not Bahnus.”

The songs in questions are namely ‘Swing’, ‘Bring It Back’, ‘I’m Back’, ‘How Did We Get’, ‘Feel The Same’ and ‘Memory’. Hyori added, ” We will do what we have to and put that behind us, we will take moral responsibility.”

With that, Lee Hyori had ended her 4th album promotions in just 2 months without a followup hit.

Amanda Bynes on Twitter: 'I'm Done Acting'

Amanda Bynes announced early this morning she'll retire from acting.

"I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she wrote on Twitter. A quick volley of tweets included further explanation: "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem" and "I've never written the movies & tv shows I've been apart of I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."

The 24-year-old star became famous on Nickelodeon, eventually starring in films like 'She's the Man' and 'Hairspray' and posing as cover girl for magazines like Cosmopolitan and Maxim.
