Ke$ha Expected To End Susan Boyle Billboard Reign
The party girl is going to kick the Scottish lady to the curb this week, as Ke$ha's "Animal" will triumph over Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed a Dream" in the Billboard 200 chart that will be unveiled on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
While the chart hasn't been finished yet, label sources indicate that what was originally thought to be a race between the two albums last Wednesday turned out to be any easy win for Ke$ha.
Her "Animal" album was initially projected to sell maybe 100,000 copies in the week that just ended on Sunday, Jan. 10. However, sources say it actually sold about 150,000 copies, easily beating Boyle's "Dream."
All of these figures are projections from industry sources based on internal data. The real, final Nielsen SoundScan numbers, as reflected in the Billboard 200 album chart, won't be released until Wednesday, Jan. 13.
We'll have more news on Ke$ha's all-but-certain No. 1 album here on Wednesday morning.
