Sarah Jessica Parker looks skinnier than ever as she becomes 'obsessed' with the gym
Balancing work with caring for her ten-month-old twins and seven-year-old son, it's no surprise the strain is starting to show on Sarah Jessica Parker.
Stepping out in New York last week, it appeared the actress was looking skinnier than ever amid reports she has lost a stone and dropped two dress sizes in recent months.
The 45-year-old's usually toned arms were replaced by sinewy arms and bulging veins as she walked her son James Wilkie to school.
Despite her busy lifestyle, friends of the star are claiming she has become 'obsessed' with dieting and gym, leading her to drop even more pounds.
The 5ft 3in star is said to have dropped from 7 1/2 stone to 6 1/2 stone, meaning she has a BMI of just 16.1 - considerably under the healthy range minimum of 18.5.
Filming Sex And The City last September, Parker cut a healthy size 8 (US size 4) frame, but is now thought to be a size 4 (US size 0).
A friend claims in the new issue of Closer magazine: 'She's always been health conscious, but this is a whole new level.
'She's worried she's looking old and feels she needs to up her workout regime to stay healthy, but it's as though she's become obsessed.
'It's normal for her to be at the gym for two hours every day as well as going for five-mile runs - and she's eating as leanly as humanly possible.'
Her friend and SATC co-star Kristin Davis admitted this week she can't keep up with Parker's exercise regime.
She told Fitness magazine: 'Sarah Jessica doesn't need a support buddy. She's one of the most motivated people I've ever met, and she has an amazing body even when she doesn't work out.'
While Parker has always been slim, she previously refuted allegations she barely ate.
She said: 'I'm always trying to put weight on. I eat everything. I’m just an eater and I love junk food. If it’s free, I honestly eat everything.'
Parker's exercise regime is starting to show similar results to that of Madonna, whose intensive workouts gave rise to extremely sinewy arms, along with bulging veins and biceps.
SJP also admitted she finds it hard to gain weight: 'I’m just someone who doesn’t gain weight. I really do not do anything special. Sometimes, I’ve been too skinny, and that’s not so great either.'
Since the birth via a surrogate of Tabitha and Marion last summer, Parker has filmed the Sex And The City sequel, as well as promoted Did You Hear About The Morgans? in various countries.
Being a mother of three children, two of which are young babies, could also cause stress.
In a recent interview, Parker admitted it was 'overwhelming' being the parents of twins.
She said: 'It’s the most perfectly overwhelming experience.'
While incredibly grateful for her nanny, Parker said she felt like normal mothers questioning their parenting ability.
She said: 'Your children are your priority; you do everything you can to make sure they are content. And you get into bed at night thinking of all the things you did wrong, and you hope things will be better the next day.
'I think women tend to put more pressure on themselves to do everything exceptionally well, which is an impossibility.
'But most working mothers probably do a lot better than I do, with far less support than I have. So I don’t think that I’m any champion. I muddle through the best that I can.'
