As expected and wished for, HP won't use Windows 7 in their incoming HP Slate, but their newly acquired Palm WebOS. At least, that's what Monty Wong—vice-president of personal computing systems at HP Taiwan—said to Digitimes.Wong declared that HP will adopt WebOS for both "smartphones and tablets", but not for notebooks. He also pointed out that the HP Slate—their newest tablet—will hit the market before October, with a "wide range" of software support at launch.
All this sounds good for everyone except Steve Ballmer: Who is going to make the Microsoft's iPad competitor now?
