WiBro iPad to be launched in Korea

South Korea wasn’t included by Apple in the list of countries that would get the iPad in May or July, but this doesn’t mean the new tablet won’t be available to Korean customers. In fact, KT (South Korea’s second largest mobile carrier) might launch not two, but three versions of the iPad.

According to Telecoms Korea, KT is in talks with Apple to introduce the iPad and iPad 3G. The two companies are also discussing about an iPad that features WiBro – South Korea’s own mobile WiMax standard.

Keep in mind that there’s nothing confirmed at this moment, so a WiBro iPad might actually never be made.

KT is the exclusive iPhone distributor in Korea (it sold more than 500,000 iPhones since last November), so it should have no problems convincing Apple to grant it exclusivity over the iPad, too.
