Jay Chou to turn talk show host?
Asian superstar Jay Chou has revealed that he hopes to try his hand at hosting a television talk show host and would invite Jolin Tsai as a guest.
"I feel that hosting is something I haven't tried before, so I would like to take up this challenge this year if I have the time and host an interesting talk show" he told a Shanghai newspaper.
"I would invite all my friends, the make-up artist, choreographer and of course Jolin Tsai," said Chou.
Speculation had been rife about their relationship since Tsai, who broke up with Chou in 2005, appeared as a guest during his concert in June and danced intimately before all present.
As Chou was tight-lipped as before on his Tsai, letting him have his own show and inviting Tsai as a guest, will definitely be one talk-show to watch.
Jay Chou's 'scam'
During the interview with the Shanghai press, Chou went in detail on his role as 'Kato' in the upcoming film "The Green Hornet" and how he 'scammed' Hollywood producers into giving it to him.
"Actors from Japan and Korea were fighting for the role ... some Korean actors even flew to the U.S. to audition. I didn't. I just sent in a video and acted like I was really cool.
"They bought it. I managed to beat out the Korean stars, even though my English was no good. By the time they (the producers) found out, I was already confirmed for the role. I felt that they got cheated by me," Chou joked.
"They also saw some of my martial arts moves and thought I was some sort of action star. They got duped again, I am actually a singer!" Chou said, laughing.
Although Chou's recent projects, such as television drama "Pandamen" (which he directed) and the film "Treasure Hunter" (which he starred in),were panned by the critics, the singer-actor-director seems determined to keep his hyphenates.
"This is a path I will never give up on. If there is a chance to direct, I will direct. I will also continue to be an actor," he said.
Jay Chou visits fan in hospital
The singer specially made a trip to the hospital to visit a cancer-stricken fan before his concert
Call him a superstar with heart if you will.
Taiwanese prince of pop Jay Chou was in Tianjin, China recently for his upcoming concert when fans witnessed Jay going into a hospital. According to reports, Jay was visiting a sick patient, who is also an avid fan of his.
Jay's company originally arranged for a phone interview with the cancer-stricken child, but the star insisted on going down personally, giving the child a pleasant surprise.
Besides giving the child his autographed album, Jay also offered precious words of encouragement for the child: "Although you can't watch the concert in Tianjin, you can go and watch the others once you've recovered."
Jay also promised the child to invite him to the concert once his surgery is over.
This is not the first time the modest superstar had shown his delicate side.
Back in 2004, a female fan of Jay's was involved in a serious accident and doctors declared the girl in a vegetative state with no hope of recovering. However, the girl's mother found out that she responds to Jay's songs and miraculously, she woke up from her coma.
According to the girl's mother, Jay frequently comes to visit, but never speaks of it publicly: "Jay and his mother are both kind people; he was just like a big brother to her."
