Sprint launches 4G in new markets. White HTC EVO 4G now available

Today, Sprint announced it has expanded its 4G coverage in seven new metropolitan markets: Rochester (N.Y.), Syracuse (N.Y.), Merced (California), Visalia (California), Eugene (Oregon), Tri-Cities (Washington), and Yakima (Washington).

Speaking of 4G, Sprint’s first 4G smartphone, the HTC EVO 4G, is now available in white at Best Buy (for $199.99 on contract) – you can buy it online here. That’s really good news for those in need of an EVO, since the black version is still sold out, both at Sprint and Best Buy.

Sprint’s second 4G handset, the QWERTYfied Samsung Epic 4G, is expected to be launched later this summer, so HTC’s EVO remains the only option if you want a 4G phone right now.

At the moment, Sprint offers 4G in 43 US markets. By the end of 2010, it plans to extend coverage in even more markets, including L.A., New York and Miami.
