Break out your iPods, ‘Crunchers: It’s time for a new tune from Bajan Mama Rihanna. The Grammy-winning pop tart premiered her brand new single — “Only Girl (In the World)” — during Tuesday morning’s edition of “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.”
The song is produced by Stargate and serves as the first single to Rihanna’s forthcoming album — Loud –which is due in November. The euro-pop number currently follows the dance trend that is hitting up the dancefloor these days. It’s like “Please Don’t Stop the Music” on a caffeine rush and sure to become a hit for the Rated R hitmaker!
What do you think of Rihanna’s new song? Rock It or Drop It?
“I didn’t want to go backward and remake ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’. I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna. I’m gonna miss the ‘Rated R’ era too, but NOTHING compares to the album I just made,” Rihanna, 22, blogged this morning.
An iTunes arrival date and album release date have not yet been confirmed.
Rihanna’s fourth album — Rated R — was released in Nov. 2009 and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, selling over 180,000 copies in its first week. The LP has since been certified platinum.
