Career aspirations
S.H.E has released 10 studio albums, with more than 15 million copies sold in all. The girls have taken their world tour to major concert venues, including the Hong Kong Coliseum, Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium and the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
"Actually, each of us has different career aspirations and interests," said Tien.
"Ella wants to be a movie star and Selina prefers hosting. We have our own strengths which we will pursue individually."
She does not mind, however, if Chen guest stars in her music videos.
In the video for her song I'll Just Be Lonely, she shared several scenes with Taiwanese male model Ren Youtian.
Tien said that as she did not know Ren beforehand, they "lacked a little chemistry".
"The best male co-star for me would be Ella – in drag. We are so close and would definitely have a lot of fun doing the shoot together.
"I suggested to my producers to have her put on a chest binder and play my male lead, but they felt it would be too comical."
Sharp-eyed fans who have purchased To Hebe would have noticed that S.H.E's frequent songwriter and collaborator Jay Chou did not contribute a single track this time.
Tien clarified: "My label did initially ask him (Chou) for songs, but during the production of the album, my producers felt that our styles were too contrasting.
"So when he didn't follow up, we didn't press him either."
The timing of her album's release couldn't have been better, said Tien.
"Having been in this industry for 10 years, I have the right amount of experience to be personally involved in every stage of my album's production.
"Yet, I'm not too jaded and cynical about the whole (music) business.
"The level of passion and expertise is just nice."
