Gwyneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift CMA Awards 2010 Performance

Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow made her singing debut on the Country Music Association annual awards show, which aired live on ABC Wednesday night.

How well did she do? Well enough to get a standing ovation from the Nashville audience!

Dressed in a thigh-skimming black dress and ankle boots, Gwyneth took the stage at the Bridgestone Arena, where she performed “Country Strong,” the theme from her upcoming movie of the same name, alongside Vince Gill. She even strummed along on a six-string guitar as she harmonized!

Guess it pays to be wed to one of Britain’s best-known rockers! After all, Gwynie isn’t just the Goddess of Goop, she’s Mrs. Chris Martin!

Country Strong, in which Gwyn plays a country singer, hits theaters on Dec. 22. And she’s not done performing for us yet. Paltrow will perform a safe-for-work version of Cee-Lo’s “Fuck You” on the next installment of Glee.

On Tuesday night, Taylor Swift became the youngest person in the history of the Country Music Awards to be named Sngwriter of the Year. Not shabby, huh?

That trophy was not handed out on last night's broadcast, however, but that doesn't mean Swift didn't make a major impression on viewers and those in attendance.

The young sensation performed at the piano during the event, serenading the crowd with a rendition of "Back to December," the single allegedly written for Taylor Lautner. Check out the performance:

We wonder if Kanye West will take credit for this song's success, too. Below, watch Taylor sing it live for fans. Think she did a good job?
