The Chinese millionaire who is engaged to Taiwanese actress, Barbie Hsu, is alleged of being a wife-beater who deserted his wife and kids
Since news of Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu's sudden engagement to Chinese millionaire Wang Xiaofei broke, the industry has been abuzz with Barbie's alleged third party status in Wang's relationship with ex-girlfriend, Kitty Zhang.
Rumour also has it that Wang was once married to a woman whose surname is 'Kwan'. The couple have a daughter together and filed for divorce three years ago.
A netizen wrote, "He was divorced with his wife, Kwan, three years ago, and their daughter Wang Mo Yue, just turned one. The reason behind their separation was due to the estranged relationship between husband and wife. The male party reportedly forced marriage on the female when she got pregnant and the pair does not have feelings for each other."
Said person also revealed that Kwan sued Wang for "domestic violence", "neglect of family" and "womanizing", and said that the Chinese businessman confessed that he has "no financial income" and relies on his mother for "a monthly allowance".
When Wang's mother got wind of this piece of news, she expressed anger over the rumours and lashed out, "This is ridiculous. I will sue the person for defamatory."
She assured that none of the above mentioned happened and requested for the netizen to produce the marriage certificate and the name of the court. Unhappy at the turn of events, Wang's mother revealed that she has no hesitations taking up legal actions against these false accusations.
Apart from speculations on Wang's wife-beating past, Wang's mother was also believed to have paid his ex-girlfriend and Chinese actress Kitty Zhang RMB 6mil ($1.2mil) as separation fees.
Although numerous netizens have expressed concern on rumours regarding Wang's past and the pair's sudden engagement, Barbie remains calm as she wrote on her WeiBo (Chinese microblogging platform), "I am not trying to be high-profile, I am just calm; I am not trying to hide, I am just trying to lead a life."
