Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Split Not True, Say Sources; And Rumors Around

While reports are swirling that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are headed for a split, multiple sources close to the family tell PEOPLE that the rumors are false.

"Everything is fine" with the couple, who are parents to six kids, a source says.

Another source says the split reports, which were first published in a British tabloid, are "totally false."

In recent weeks, it's been business as usual for the busy couple – movie shoots, family outings, charity work – and several observers say they saw nothing amiss.

Couple Time

On Jan. 2, Pitt, 46, and Jolie, 34, shared a romantic dinner for two at the French restaurant Le Perigord. "You could tell they wanted to spend time alone and didn't want to be bothered by anybody else," says a source. "It was wonderful to see a couple so much in love."

Busy Work Schedules

With filming wrapped, the two headed back to Los Angeles to work on pre-production for their upcoming movies: Jolie's The Tourist and Pitt's Lost City of Z. On Jan. 16, Pitt took their eldest son, Maddox, on a boys' trip to the New Orleans Saints' playoff game, while Jolie was spotted grocery shopping and dropping by an Apple Store in L.A. with daughters Zahara and Shiloh.

In the last few days, Jolie reportedly jetted to New York City for a Vanity Fair photo shoot, while Pitt stayed in L.A. to participate in friend George Clooney’s Hope for Haiti Now telethon. (Both Pitt and Jolie made major donations to the relief effort.) Pitt didn’t attend Saturday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, where his Inglourious Basterds picked up the award for best ensemble cast.

Brad Pitt’s Brother ‘Told Him to Split From Angelina Jolie’

IT SEEMS Brad Pitt’s split from partner Angelina Jolie has been a long time coming.

With reports swirling that the Hollywood couple is just days away from announcing they’re gearing up to go their separate ways, it has emerged that Brad’s family have been keen for his romance with Jolie to come to an end.

According to a recent report in American tabloid the National Enquirer, the Fight Club star’s brother, Doug Pitt, has been urging the superstar to leave Angelina.

“After Brad opened up about a recent spate of nasty fights with Angelina and their deteriorating relationship, Doug rushed from Missouri to stage an intervention on behalf of Brad’s concerned family,” a source said.

“The Pitt family had been planning to do it L.A., but after Brad’s last blowup with Angie they realized they had to act right away.

“They think he’s drinking too much and not eating and sleeping enough. They knew they had to intervene before Brad falls apart.”

Brad’s family were apparently furious with Angie when she ruined their Christmas plans.

“Brad’s family had hoped to celebrate Christmas with Brad, Angie and the kids in New Orleans,” spilled the mole. “But Angie demanded that the children stay in New York while she did re-shoots for Salt. She turned their holidays upside down!

“The Pitts always welcomed Angie, but they felt her canceling plans was a slap in the face. All they want is to see Brad happy — and it’s becoming clear that Angie makes him miserable.”

“Over a few beers, Brad and Doug had a heart-to-heart,” adds the source. “Brad complained about how difficult Angelina can be. Doug said the family would support whatever Brad decides, but if the relationship continues like this, he should leave her.

“Brad loves Doug and trusts him completely. He thanked him for being there and told him he would give his advice some serious thought. Brad knows his family’s got his back. He must also know they are right about this.”

Angelina Jolie was so jealous of Jennifer Aniston: So will Brad Pitt go back to his ex?

Jolie says he's 'boring and toxic'. Brad says she needs to see a shrink. Now, as the world's most famous couple divide up six children and nine houses, the REAL question is: Will he go back to his ex?

Gone 10pm in the award-winning Alto restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, and the world's most famous showbusiness couple have already been there for four hours.

They've sunk five bottles of wine (two red, two white and an Italian dessert wine) and eaten a four-course dinner, while the friends they were discussing charity work with have long gone.

Now, as fellow diners including actor Alec Baldwin look on, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are struggling to keep their emotions in check. He looks close to tears as he tells the mother of their children that she needs to get psychiatric help or he will leave her.

She hisses back to Brad that she's bored with him, she considers him 'toxic' and wants him out of her life.

It is said to be this dinner, earlier this month, that finally sealed the fate of the Brangelina story which has fascinated the world ever since Brad left Jennifer Aniston six years ago to be with Angelina, his co-star in Mr And Mrs Smith, the film he was working on.

When the pair left the restaurant an hour later, Angelina looked grim and determined. Brad wore an expression of deep concern as they stepped into their large people-carrier.
