Ella Forgets Lyrics, Seeks Help from Fans

Earlier, while Ella was in Taiwan promoting for her idol new drama – [Down With Love], she was maligned by the media to be on bad terms with the director, causing her to “break down” in tears. On Friday, she flew to Malaysia to promote the [S.H.E – Love As One] Concert with Selina and Hebe. It was evident that Ella’s mood was affected as her sunny smiles were not as frequent, and she seemed to be a totally changed person from her usual bubbly self. When asked if she was unhappy over the accusation, Ella replied with a forced smile, “Everything’s fine. Everything’s fine.” On the other hand, her “sisters” have to keep coming up with topics to bring the mood up at the event to prevent awkwardness!
During the evening at 8.30pm, S.H.E was at Sungei Wang Plaza to meet their fans. When greeted by the passionate fans’ enthusiasm, Ella finally broke into a smile, but it was not known if she has decided to keep her concerns deeper in her heart. When Ella started to sing [Already Dawn] (Tian Liang Le), she got the lyrics wrong at the first line and she exclaimed aloud at her mistake. In her embarrassment, she turned to look at Selina and said, “I’ve sang wrongly!” Ella then requested to re-sing and asked the fans what the first line was. But fans mistook her question and cheered aloud, “S.H.E is irreplaceable.” This caused Ella to panic and responded in return, “Not irreplaceable, I was asking about the first line of the lyrics lah!”
Although S.H.E only sang 1 song during the autograph session on Friday, Ella’s “unusual” behavior has probably got to do with her affected mood. Before singing [Already Dawn], Ella also said, “We’ll let everyone listen to our song first and decide if you want to come for the concert.” Selina then added, “We are not afraid to be tested by everyone!” But shortly after when the music sounded, Ella forgot the lyrics. It really seemed like an unfortunate coincidence!
Right Arm with Prominent Bruise
In addition, as Ella was wearing a sleeveless blouse on Friday, the dark-red bruise on her right arm was very prominent. Even fans who went on stage to play games noticed it and expressed their concerns. In response, Ella merely shook her head and smiled. When reporters expressed their concerns to Ella, she also smiled and replied, “I have no idea how the bruise got there.”
Nonetheless S.H.E was very touched by the fans’ passion on Friday evening, as many of them braved the rain to wait for a whole evening and were cheering non-stop for the trio. When Ella got on stage, she was the first to immediately address and greet the fans, “Thank you to all of you for braving the winds and rain just to wait for us.” Thus it was still the fans’ love that moved Ella!
Ella Declines Getting Wu Chun to Teach Malay Songs
During the press conference, Ella appeared “almost expressionless” and unhappy throughout. Despite Selina and Hebe tried to keep talking about happy matters animatedly, Ella did not seem to be influenced by them. There would even be times when she turned slightly away, seemingly deep in her own thoughts.
Shortly, when reporters asked if Ella was still very affected by the media’s malign of the unhappiness with [Down With Love]’s Director, Ella just said, “Everything’s fine.” This puts a stop to further questions on the topic.
Nonetheless when sharing on their concert, Ella is still very professional in promoting. She shared that the concert promises a visual treat for all, be it in costumes or contents of the programmes. Ella answered frankly, “This is a big challenge!” Being frequent guests of Malaysia, the trio is already very familiar with Malay greetings. Ella already showcased her flair when she said, “Tuan-Tuan dan Puan-Puan, Terima Kasih, Aku Cinta Pada Mu*(vaguely translated as “Ladies & Gentlemen”, “Thank you” and “I love you”)” and even sang a few lines of “Selamat Hari Jadi (Happy Birthday), and Rasa Sayang…”. But when it comes to singing a complete Malay song for their concert in Malaysia, the trio felt that it is probably mission impossible. The host of the event then suggested to Ella that she could look to Wu Chun for lessons and she asked in return, “Doesn’t Wu Chun speaks Brunei language instead?” It was only then she realized that the Brunei’s Malay and Malaysia’s Malay are fairly similar. Then Ella declined the suggestion by saying, “Wu Chun should be very busy.”
Hebe Hinted Subtly to Cherish This Concert
Because of a statement by Hebe, everyone was baffled, “We wonder if there would ever be such a large-scale concert in future, hope that everyone will cherish this.” When asked why she said so, she added quickly, “Because 2012 is supposed to be Doomsday!” This caused everyone to laugh. But yet because of her statement, it opened up channels for the media to wonder if Hebe is hinting subtly that it would be hard ever for S.H.E to come together to hold a concert in future again.
Realizing her mistake, Hebe said regrettably, “If I knew the consequences earlier, I would not have said such a thing. I really do not mean anything. It’s just that one never knows what might happen tomorrow, plus the economy is very bad now. I’m really not saying anything to suggest what it might be in future!”
