You’re nobody til somebody kills you on the Net: Oscar-nominated star Johnny Depp is the latest celebrity to die an early death at the hands of online rumors.According to the unconfirmed reports, the Kentucky-born Depp died in a car-crash near the port city of Bordeaux in France early Sunday. The hoax apparently started via a fake news story — hosted on Angelfire.com — which was made to appear as an actual CNN story. This fake web page also has a picture of brutally crashed car presumed to be one Johnny, 46, was traveling in.
The Depp Death Hoax gained prominence thanks to the social networking and micro blogging site Twitter, where “RIP Johnny Depp” has been a trending topic for much of the day.
