Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga films, is a keen musician who plays piano and guitar and even contributed songs to the soundtrack of the franchise’s most recent film, New Moon. Now the Twilight star has been approached by music mogul Simon Cowell to sign a major record deal,
The young Brit, 23, has even been told he can basically write his own check, according to London’s The Sun, who broke the story on Saturday.
Other record companies have reportedly gotten wind of the offer, prompting a bidding war. Record execs think Pattz has the stuff to turn his voice into a big moneymaker, and everyone wants him howling on their tracks.
“Robert is reluctant to be turned into a pop star and takes his music very seriously. He is a bit wary of signing up with Cowell who is, of course, associated with ‘The X Factor’ and pop….”
