Foxconn Asks Employees to Sign Promise Not to Commit Suicide or Sue The Company If They Do

Shanghaiist got ahold of this memo being sent out to Foxconn employees, trying to help them deal with whatever working conditions is leading toward this recent string of suicides. It starts off good, then, well, gets not so good.

You can see the full translation over at Shanghaiist, but basically it leads with telling employees that they should take advantage of the help line, or the complaints line, or the trade union hotline. But after that, they note three bullet-points that employees "agree" to when they sign the doc: Agreeing not to "harm myself or others", and agreeing "that the company has acted properly in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and will not sue the company..."
