Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Shows up on Another Samsung Device [Video]

The first time we ever saw a Samsung Windows Phone 7 device, we were pretty excited about it. And then we found out that it was actually a Omnia i8910. Naturally, our enthusiasm for the device waned. Since then, we haven’t heard much from Microsoft or Samsung about a future piece of hardware running the mobile Operating System. But now we’ve got one on video.

Thanks to the folks over at MobileTechWorld, who managed to grab some hands-on time with the Samsung prototype, we get to see Windows Phone 7, in its latest build, running on the prototype device. Yes, it still has some reminiscent features of an Omnia, but at least we know it doesn’t have the Omnia’s OMAP3 processor. Microsoft’s predetermined hardware requirements means that the 1GHz Snapdragon board is firing off under the hood.

The video shows just what we heard from the developers out there that had received the LG Panther prototype units. The software is running quickly, is responsive, and the Samsung prototype is working just as well as the LG’s. The camera and GPS are working as well, which is a good sign that the latest build, and the ones still forthcoming, are going a lot way to make sure that the final build is ready for prime time. Check out the video below.
