At 23, she's still rather young for the role of stepmother but Megan Fox is pretty used to it by now.
After all she was just 17 when she met and fell for Brian Austin Green, who was then a 30-year-old with a two-year-old son.
Now Kassius is eight and judging by the smile on his face as he went shopping for books, he realises how cool it is to have a superstar actress in his extended family.
The three of them went to BookStar in Studio City, LA, yesterday.
Of course, Kassius has known Megan for most of his life as she and Brian have been dating since 2004.
They met on the set of U.S. comedy series Hope & Faith. Two years later they announced their engagement but in February 2009 called it off, however they remain a couple.
Kassius is Brian's son from his former relationship with Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Vanessa Marcil, whom he dated from 1999 to 2003.
The role of David Silver in the teen soap is probably the role by which he is still best known.
Recently, his most noteable roles have been in a handful of episodes of Smallville and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Fox's career continues to go from strength to strength, with both Transformers movies becoming box-office successes, as was the black comedy horror film Jennifer's Body.
Megan is currently filming the third film in the Transformers film franchise, revising her role as car-loving siren Mikaela Banes, alongside actor Shia LaBeouf, for the movie which is due out in 2011.
However, she enjoyed her time off yesterday and was confident enough to be seen out and about without her make-up on.
It wasn't the first time either. She was snapped looking very fresh-faced shopping for cosmetics in Los Angeles last week.
She also showed off her political side recently after she was recruited by a Parents Teachers Association in Los Angeles to have a pop at California governor Arnold Schwarzengger.
Attacking his budget cuts, she filmed a video in an attempt to highlight the damaging effects of the cuts and to mock his tough-guy image.
The short film has been viewed nearly one million times on the Funny Or Die website, closes with Fox urging viewers to 'call, write and annoy the governor until he cries for his mommy'.
