"Ah SA! Ah SA! Ah SA!" Accompanied live by thousands of screaming fans, EEG's one 'big sister' Ah SA Charlene Choi appeared on stage at Chongqing's sports stadium. The previous afternoon, Charlene held her personal autograph session in Chongqing and although it was held several weeks following Charlene's Mandarin "As A Sa" album release, the frenzy continued as 400 copies of "As A Sa" were sold out in a dozen minutes. In the evening, she performed 4 songs, consisting of her new album's central song "Big Storm", "The Past is Not Like Smoke", "Confidant", and "Love Will Fight to Win". According to inside sources, Ah SA's onstage appearances earned her up to 6 figures.
Autograph Session 'Hot' Popularity
The previous day, Chongqing's sports stadium was unusually bustling with excitement because of EEG's older sister Ah SA arrival at the venue. Promoting her new album at the venue, she also took part in interactive games with Chongqing fans.
400 CDs Sold Out Within 15 minutes
The previous afternoon, Ah SA first held her autograph session at Chongqing's sports stadium. However, when reporters arrived at the venue at 2pm, reporters discovered that fans, with Ah SA's new CD in their hands, were already waiting in line by the stage for autographs. Fans At the Venue Moved to Tears
At 4pm, Ah SA finally arrived at the autograph session venue. After fans spotted their idol, they immediately waved their hands in the air holding their CD, showing their support. Ah SA holding a gold autograph pen, signed the covers of albums. Some fans were so moved after obtaining an autograph that their eyes were brimming with tears of excitement. "I finally got her autograph, she even shook my hand, she was very kind, she's slim in person!" One fan was excitedly seen holding an autographed CD in one hand, and holding a cellphone in the other, expressing her excitement to a friend as tears already flowed. Other fans were so happy they jumped with joy with their CD in their hand and a smile spread across their face.
Although fans were asked to not take photos during the autograph session, many fans secretly took out their camera prepared. "Will you let me take a photo?" Not wanting to leave after taking photos, fans one after another pleaded with security and many fans later revealed their photos to other envious fans.
The Venue Overflowing with Over 2000 Fans
At 7pm, half an hour prior to the start of the concert, the venue was already packed full house. Fans holding inflatable 'sticks' created momentum towards Ah SA's apearance on stage. Other fans held "SA" and "妍" glowing signs.
Organizers also chose 5 fans, prepared to play interactive games and 'dance' with Ah SA. (A joke/tagline from Charlene's Sina blog) Following a Chongqing fan's request, she said "I'm seriously handsome" (Another joke/tagline from one of her 'characters' she made up for herself, poking fun at herself, on Charlene's Sina blog). At the Chonqing concert, Ah SA expressed that she personally really likes Chongqing, she loves to eat, and furthermore she loves to eat spicy food, a trait of people from Chongqing.
More Interactive Games and Performances
Midway through the concert, fans also took part in song lyric games. On stage, 5 (Mandarin-speaking) fans one after one sang lyrics to Charlene's (Cantonese) songs, leading Ah SA to be extremely amazed: "Wow, amazing, all singing in Cantonese!" Fans in the audience were influenced by the atmosphere and joined in singing along in Cantonese with fans on stage. During this game, Ah SA sang her well-known song "Next Station Tin Hau", then everyone joined in and sang together. Afterwards the audience sang "Kite and Wind", causing Ah SA to let out a breath that she was extremely moved by these 'iron' fans. "I didn't expect that fans in Chonqing would like this song of mine. How about let everyone in this game win, no matter what song I let out they all know how to sing."
