Milla Jovovich swaps blood and gore for 17th century French elegance for new film role
We so used to seeing Milla Jovovich cocking a machine gun or two at some terrorising zombies.
So it made a nice change to see her dolled up looking very elegant and regal in her 17th century gown for her latest movie role.
The Resident Evil star, 34, posted photos of herself on Twitter this morning as she was fitted for her costumes for her part in The Three Musketeers.
The actress looked stunning in the 17th century costumes she was trying on ahead of filming next month.
And she was so excited about being dressed up and fussed over in her regal finery, that she had to share on the social networking site.
She first wrote: 'Good morning! Going 2 my 1st 3M (3musketeers) fitting! Will b fun trying on all those big 17th century gowns!'
And as the costume designers for the film pinned and stitched around her, Milla's Blackberry stayed in her hand as she filled her followers in on the dress fitting and posted photos of the gowns for all to see.
For one snap she wrote: 'Quite a collar on that chick! Lol! Its like a kick ass "midsummer nights dream"!'
And for another, she revealed the secret behind the costume when she said: 'A 17th century bond girl! How amazing is this 1st test 4 the costume 4 3M!Its jst canvas w bits of fabric pinned 2 it.'
And she also revealed that despite the elaborate costumes that trail to the floor, she would be able to film all her scenes - even the action ones.
She wrote: 'This fitting is unbelievable and to b able 2 do crazy fight sequences in these dresses?! SICK!!'
Milla is set to star in a new film version of the 1844 novel The Three Musketeers, which starts filming in August and is due for release next year.
The Three Musketeers tells the story of a young man called d'Artagnan who leaves home to become a guard of the musketeer soldiers.
She will play the role of Milady de Winter, a felon and a spy who is one of the chief antagonists of the story.
The film is directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson, who she met on set of the Resident Evil films, which Milla is well known for her as her role as zombie killer Alice, a role she reprised for Afterlife, the fourth movie in the series, due out in September.
